The role of the staff member specialising in attraction is to identify start-ups and other local companies interested in expanding their business to Japan or collaborating with Japanese companies, mainly in the fields of carbon neutrality and digital transformation, arrange meetings, introduce our support services, take minutes, follow up, manage the projects, and deal with various enquiries from the companies about entering the Japanese market. Specialist recruitment staff work, mainly dealing with local companies, such as responding to various enquiries from companies about setting up business in Japan.
Position: Research Assistant (Japanese Speaking)
Contract: Permanent Monday-Friday 9:30~17:30 (35h/week, On-site only)

Duty:
Identification of start-ups and other local companies interested in expanding their business to Japan and collaborating with Japanese companies, particularly in the fields of carbon neutrality and digital transformation, Meeting arrangements, introduction of our support services, taking minutes, follow-up, case management, dealing with various enquiries from companies about entering the Japanese market, etc.
Follow-up of existing project companies (including system building), information management, monitoring performance
Necessary liaison and coordination with the department in charge at HQ (Tokyo).
Support for building links with other relevant organisations to help identify UK companies and others interested in investing in Japan.
Support for other tasks that need to be handled by the Invest & Innovation Department.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be able to work 5 days a week.
- Native level English and Japanese language for internal record, written and spoken (JLPT N1, N2 is desireble)
- Good understanding of UK business practices.
- Proficient in MicroSoft office tools
- Able to travel within and outside the UK.
