Job title: Shipping coordinator

Responsibilities:
- Arranging import/ export sea, air, road and courier shipments
- Weighting more towards sea freight but preference would be for all-rounder, if possible
- Booking and arranging exports with shipping lines and/ or agents/ consolidators
- Issuing bills of lading (seafreight)
- Billing out on completion of shipments
- Obtaining and issuing quotations to clients/ overseas offices
Requirements:
- Good communication skills (English language), discussing with clients, suppliers and colleagues (globally) (It is not a requirement but of course if the candidate can speak Japanese, it would not be a negative. English is however the main language used by the office.)
- Computer proficiency, particularly MS Excel, Outlook (we use a proprietary forwarding system so need to be proficient and good around computers/ any application)
- English Business Level
- Applicants will need to be in possession of a valid UK working visa, as no visa sponsorship is provided.
Salary & Other:
- Full-time position
- Office based, 5 days a week
- GBP 30,000 p.a. gross
- Holiday allowance: 22 days per year, increasing to 25 days after 5 years
- Working in the office in Basingstoke (as such, someone who has no issues commuting to our office)
- Start as soon as possible
