Japanese Organisation is seeking for a Project Research Assistant (English native with business level of Japanese) 
 

Start Date: 1st Oct 2024

Position: Project Research Assistant (English native with business level of Japanese)
Contract: Temp Agency Worker, Monday-Friday 9:30~17:30 (Unpaid 1h lunch break, 35h/week, On-site only) 
Location: City of London
Salary: £TBC/h 
 

Duty: 
Assisting business related tasks: 

  •  Assist in the preparation and operation of seminars and workshops
    (venue arrangement procedures, distribution of information emails, receipt of applications, preparation and inclusion of materials, venue set-up, reception and induction, etc.).

  • Liaison and coordination for interviews with governments, organisations, companies, experts, etc. required for the project.

  • Networking with the other branch offices and other governments, organisations, companies, experts, etc. required for the operation of the seminars.


Assisting Research Related Tasks:

  • Gathering information on politics, economics, business, etc. in the UK, Africa and other countries (information on various statistics, legal systems, industry information, etc., mainly through the internet, newspapers, participation in various seminars, interviews, etc.)

  •  Preparation of various documents using the information collected.

    • Proofreading of reports prepared by contractors, etc. (as needed)

    • Preparation of PowerPoint documents (as needed)

    • Draft business briefs, regional and analytical reports (at least 20 per year)

  • Compilation of UK press coverage (review various press reports on a daily basis and compile key articles in Excel)

  •  Liaison, coordination, attendance and note-taking for interviews with government, organisations, businesses, experts, etc. required for research

 
Other 
  • General tasks required for the operation of the team's business (telephone reception, entry registration, booking of meeting rooms, various procedures, filing, sending out mail, etc.).

Requirements: 
 
  • Applicants must be able to work 5 days a week.
  • Native English and business level of Japanese language for internal record, written and spoken
  • Proficient in MicroSoft office tools 
  • Desirable to have reasonable communication skills in Japanese. (In addition to being able to handle daily conversation and business meetings in Japanese, the candidate should be able to read and understand business Japanese reasonably well.)
     
VISA: Able to work in the UK indefinitely.
